Nigeria 1-1 Egypt post match analysis

Even though the Super Eagles drew this match through a last minute offside trap madness by our naive defenders, I must admit that the Samson Siasia tutored side no doubt gave a very good account of themselves on the pitch.

In fairness to the Nigeria side, a lot of our countrymen including myself didn't expect them bossing the Pharaohs of Egypt in the encounter. The Eagles who struggled to cope with the fast paced Egyptian side in the first half, turned up the heat against their opponent with Etebo scoring the opener until Roma's Mohammed Salah beat the offside trap to score the much celebrated equaliser.

If the Eagles can sustain the same tempo in the second leg against Egypt with one or few corrections particularly in the defence, where our left and right backs were caught napping at times, I am confident they can return home with an away win.

Kudos to the Super Eagles!
